"Bitches and Candy started as a poem I wrote to my high school girlfriend on a napkin in a bar. The sentiment was the hope that maybe our paths would cross again in the twilight of our lives and we could once again share the companionship we had in our adolescence. At the time we as a band were heavily influenced my Stereolab's "Dots and Loops" and took a liking to their use of odd times and overall aesthetic. Ten years later I'm not sure how much those original musical ideas stayed in tact, but it was an absolute blast and significant challenge to put this oldie to tape. I would be remiss not to mention that my Grandmother's name was Madeline. I loved her very much."
